With the new season fast approaching, I thought I would write a few words about my plans for the site this year.
I will as usual cover any bowling news I hear about and I invite visitors to submit any news they may have and wish to share with the bowling community. I will continue to cover the Gourock Park championship and president's singles as well as reporting on other internal competitions once they reach the latter stages. I also hope to be able to increase my coverage of Ladies bowling at Gourock Park and hopefully from around the district.

The Greenock & District League and Championships will be covered with results on site as soon as possible, again I would appreciate any help I can get from visitors, who can send me their results. On Championship Finals day I hope to be able to do my usual report and of course photos of the winners.

The same applies for the S.B.A. District Finals and if possible include photos/report from the National Finals at Ayr.

Coverage of the R.B.A. has been limited throughout the last 9 years of this site and I hope this will improve this year.

On the Gourock Park year, I will as usual cover our main events- Opening Day, Stonehouse, Davidson Trophy, Jess Robinson, Auld's Juniors and other events that occur throughout the season.

If any club within the district would like me to cover their Championship? Then please do get in touch!  All I need is someone to send me a regular update of results and I will do the rest.

I have created a 'Forum' for you all to use. This can be a place for lively discussions on not just bowling. Its up to you what goes there!  I have made headings there for every club in the district and I hope you will find this useful for sharing news and results.

Gourock Park also has its own 'Bebo' page and I am hoping some of the younger bowlers(and us oldies) will find this of use and like previous years there will be more bowling videos added to the Gourock Park You Tube page.

One other event I intend to cover is the British Isles Championsip in Belfast, which includes 'The Gourock Park Fours
and this occurs at the end of June.

I hope you will enjoy my coverage and all the best for 2009 in Bowling.

Received an email from Ian Brown with details of who Gourock Park will play in the British Isles Championships in Belfast in June of this year. They will play Guernsey on Thursday with the winners going on to play Ireland in the semi-final. Ian also mentioned that the event may be all played to a conclusion on Thursday 25th June with no play on the Friday! This has still to be confirmed at time of writing.

Received a quick update from Ian Brown on the order of play at the British Isles Championships in Belfast. It now seems that if they manage to defeat Guernsey on the Thursday morning, that their next game will either be Thursday afternoon or evening. The Final of this Tournament is to be played on the Friday, but as yet we do not know at what time!  Will update again if I hear any more.

Congratulations to Wellington Park's Stephen McLelland on winning the Inverclyde Indoor Singles Championship for the second year running. Stephen defeated Mark McLees by 21 shots to 14
