A Massive thanks to all of you who attended our opening day on April 18th for Season 2009. The turnout was spectacular and I hope you all enjoyed your day.

I am really looking forward to my Presidential year and as I said on opening day, I wish to thank the  many people behind scenes, male and female, who worked so hard to make the day go successfully.

Thank you also to all those that brought along prizes for the opening day raffle.

Special thanks to Hamish Ramsay and John Lamb, who have been ‘the main Men’ at Gourock Park for many years and I hope they will continue to be in the coming years.

Special thanks to my Wife, Susan, for getting my season off to a great start, by delivering the first Jack and Bowls so well. Although she performed this task with ease and enjoyed her day, I doubt I will be able persuade her to take up the game, but I will keep working on her!

Thanks to the Ladies, who served up an excellent spread of Sausage Rolls, Sandwiches, Tea, Coffee and of course our famous home baking delights.

Thanks also to the hard working Bar Staff, who kept us well refreshed throughout the day.

I wish my Vice-President, Alex McIllravey(Jnr), a happy and enjoyable season and thanks to him for looking after the Guests on opening day.

Thanks to Gary Bradley, our Webmaster, whose Site gets better every season.

My thanks also to the following people, Jordan, for Piping me and our Guests onto the green and also to John Bryan for photographing the event on the day.

We have a very strong Youth Section at Gourock Park and I thank Andy Kearns and all his helpers for all the great coaching they give the Kids.

Thanks to our Management Committee, which is headed by our Honorary President, Mr John McCartney. Thanks to Ian Brown for the wonderful condition of our greens and finally, all the best to our Lady President, Mrs Cathy Morrow and Vice-President, Mrs Jessie Best and I hope the Ladies excel in the forthcoming Season

Happy and healthy bowling for all in 2009
